Teaching Philosophy
"As a vocal instructor and mezzo-soprano, and forever student myself, I believe that music is about more than just technique—it's about connection, expression, and personal growth. My goal is to help each student find their unique voice, build confidence, and discover the joy that comes from making music.

With experience teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, I tailor my lessons to meet individual needs and goals. Whether a student is preparing for performance, building foundational technique, or simply learning to sing with freedom and joy, I work to create a safe, encouraging environment where learning feels both meaningful and fun. I emphasize healthy vocal technique, musicality, stage presence, and emotional connection—because music is not just something we perform, but something we share.

My background includes private vocal coaching, substitute teaching in choral classrooms, and leadership in both educational and ministerial settings. These experiences have taught me how to engage diverse learners, develop effective curriculum, and mentor with compassion and clarity. Currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Music at North Dakota State University, I’ve had the opportunity to study with incredible mentors, perform with respected ensembles, and deepen my own artistry—experiences I bring into every lesson.

I believe music has the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together. As I continue to grow as a teacher and musician, including my pursuit of music therapy, I remain passionate about helping others use music as a tool for self-expression and transformation. At the heart of my teaching is a desire to uplift and empower each student—to help them not just become better singers, but more confident and connected individuals."
